MAKATI CITY, Philippines — Pacific Plaza Condominium (PPC), a pioneering landmark in the Makati central business district, has officially switched its entire power supply to 100% renewable energy through a partnership with ACEN RES, the retail electricity arm of the Ayala group’s energy platform.
The switch marks a significant sustainability milestone for the premium residential development, which has been a staple of the Makati skyline for decades. As part of the agreement, the building will now be powered by renewable energy sourced from ACEN’s diverse portfolio of solar, wind, and geothermal plants.
Beyond power supply, the partnership integrates sustainable transportation through ACMobility, the Ayala group’s end-to-end mobility provider. An electric vehicle (EV) charging station will be installed at the building, providing residents with convenient access to EV charging infrastructure.
“This transition is a testament to our commitment to preserving the prestige of Pacific Plaza while evolving to meet the environmental challenges of the modern era,” said Atty. Llewellyn L. Llanillo, Board Member of the Pacific Plaza Condominium Corporation. “By choosing renewable energy, we are ensuring that our community remains a leader in sustainable urban living.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Pacific Plaza as they take this bold step toward a net-zero future,” said Tony Valdez, ACEN Senior Vice President of Market Transformation and Retail. “Our goal is to make renewable energy accessible for more businesses and residential buildings. Through the government’s customer choice programs, end-users no longer need to invest in equipment like rooftop solar panels to enjoy the benefits of renewable energy. They can simply switch with ACEN RES.”
