ACEN RES, the retail electricity unit of the Ayala Group, and its market research partner, Synergy Market Research + Strategic Consultancy, won a Gold Award at the 2026 ESOMAR Awards in Valencia, Spain, for their strategic use of research to educate electricity end-users about renewable energy and to position ACEN RES as a leading renewable energy supplier in the Philippines.
Organized by ESOMAR, the world’s leading global community for data, research, and insights professionals, the awards recognize the most impactful and innovative work that demonstrates how research drives meaningful business outcomes.
The award recognized how research-driven insights helped shape ACEN RES’s brand and market strategy, enabling the company to educate the market, strengthen category leadership, and emerge as the Philippines’ leading renewable energy supplier according to the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM) released by the Department of Energy (DOE). The entry demonstrated the power of research tools not just as measurement tools but as growth engines that informed business decisions and delivered measurable impact.
“Customer insights drive our strategies and execution, and our partnership with Synergy Market Research is instrumental to developing the strategies that deliver brand resonance and conversion,” said Tony Valdez, Senior Vice President and Head of Market Transformation and Retail at ACEN.
Last month, ACEN RES and Synergy also won a Gold Stevie Award from the International Business Awards (IBA).
