Landco Pacific Corporation (Landco), a pioneer in leisure resort development, announced that its Calatagan South Beach (CaSoBē) resort in Batangas has secured a renewable energy supply agreement with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity supply unit of the Ayala group, to transition its operations to 100% renewable energy.

The landmark agreement, facilitated through the Department of Energy (DOE)’s Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), underscores Landco’s commitment to sustainable tourism and operational excellence, positioning CaSoBē as a leader in environmentally responsible leisure development in the Philippines.

The (GEOP) allows eligible end-users with a minimum average monthly consumption of 100 kilowatts to directly choose their renewable energy supplier and shift their power supply to 100% clean energy sources. This empowers consumers to drive the transition to a sustainable energy future.

ACEN RES is currently the market leader in GEOP, holding a 57% market share according to the latest Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM) report from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

“This transition to 100% renewable energy is a significant milestone for CaSoBē and aligns perfectly with our commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Erickson Manzano, President and CEO of Landco Pacific Corporation. “By partnering with ACEN RES, we are not only ensuring a greener operation for our resort but also offering our guests a truly sustainable and responsible leisure experience.”

CaSoBē, developed by Landco Pacific and managed by Landco Lifestyle Ventures, is known for its expansive, modern leisure and residential offerings along the pristine coast of Calatagan, Batangas. The master-planned development features contemporary resort amenities, including the experiential resort hotel accommodations of Crusoe Cabins, Apollo Aeropods and Cupola, and is designed to promote a beach resort lifestyle centered on the benefits of living a life on vacation by the sea, wellness, and environmental preservation.

To commemorate the sustainable shift, ACEN RES presented CaSoBē with the distinguished “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge.

“ACEN RES is proud to support Landco Pacific’s CaSoBē in its decisive transition to 100% clean energy. This commitment reflects a growing awareness among major leisure destinations to embrace sustainability,” said Engr. Sheila Mina, Vice President and Head of Account Management at ACEN RES. “We are delighted to award CaSoBē the ‘Powered by Renewable Energy’ badge, recognizing its leadership in environmental action and encouraging more businesses to follow suit.”

ACEN RES introduced the “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge in 2022 to encourage more businesses to switch to clean energy. This proprietary badge recognizes recipients for embracing environmental sustainability through a decisive transition to renewable energy. To date, the “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge is installed in close to 100 RE-powered facilities across the Philippines.
