Quezon City, Philippines — ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity unit of the Ayala Group, earned a Gold Anvil for its omni-channel communications strategy at the 61st Anvil Awards. Presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the Anvil Awards are widely regarded as the “Oscars” of public relations in the country. ACEN RES took top honors in the Business-to-Business Communications category during the ceremony held at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City.
The award-winning strategy drove significant commercial growth for the company, expanding its market share in the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP) from 37% in 2024 to 57% in 2025. This growth translated to ₱610 million in signed contracts and a pipeline of ₱3.2 billion in prospective leads, and a 13 percent increase in earned PR mileage.
To achieve these results, ACEN RES leveraged a mix of high-touch events and digital content, including customer feature videos, digital PR, and targeted social media campaigns. These efforts helped the brand secure the highest “top-of-mind” awareness among its target audience, according to a recent market study.
“This achievement represents the collective success of the entire retail marketing and corporate communications teams, and our partner agencies,” said Tony Valdez, Senior Vice President for Market Transformation and Retail of ACEN.
Valdez attributed the win to the integrated efforts of the company’s retail, legal, regulatory, and corporate communications teams, alongside agency partners Saatchi & Saatchi, Synergy Market Research & Consultancy, and Outbound Asia.
“With the strategic guidance of our chief operating officer, Miguel de Jesus, we are further inspired to advance our advocacy of making renewable energy accessible to more Filipino businesses,” Valdez said. “This commitment not only empowers electricity end-users but also plays a pivotal role in helping the country achieve its national renewable energy targets.”
This latest win marks a pattern of industry recognition for ACEN RES. In past years, the company earned a Gold Anvil and two Silver Anvils for its brand introductory campaign and social media programs. On the international stage, it received three Gold Stevie Awards at the International Business Awards for the same omni-channel strategy.
“We take great pride in amplifying our partners’ sustainability journeys through PR, ensuring that their commitment to renewables resonates far and wide. Together with ACEN RES, we are magnifying the advocacy for a greener, more resilient energy landscape,” said Irene Maranan, Senior Vice President & Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability of ACEN.
By prioritizing digital-first customer acquisition and sustainability-driven branding, ACEN RES has solidified its position as a leader in the Philippine renewable energy retail sector. The company is now the preferred provider for 6 out of 10 businesses eligible for the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP). This government initiative enables electricity end-users with an average peak monthly demand of at least 100 kilowatts to transition to a 100% renewable energy supply through licensed suppliers such as ACEN RES.
