Makati City, Philippines — TÜV Rheinland Philippines, Inc., a testing, inspection, and certification service provider, is putting its sustainability principles into practice by transitioning its main office operations to 100% renewable energy through a partnership with ACEN RES.

The move enables the company to reduce emissions from its local operations while reinforcing its commitment to the environmental standards it helps organizations uphold.

Located in Magallanes, Makati City, the TÜV Rheinland Philippines main office, made the switch under the government’s Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework, which allows qualified contestable consumers with high electricity demand to choose their own energy suppliers and source renewable energy based on their sustainability and operational requirements.

By sourcing its electricity directly from ACEN’s portfolio of renewable energy projects, the company aims to minimize its environmental impact and align its local operations with global corporate sustainability standards.

“As a company dedicated to safety, quality, and environmental standards, practicing what we audit is a core operational priority,” said Tristan Arwen “Bobbit” Loveres, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Philippines. “Switching to pure renewable energy for our Makati facility allows us to directly lower our carbon footprint, ensuring that our corporate practices reflect the exact sustainability and environmental compliance standards we verify for our clients.”

“We are glad to support TÜV Rheinland Philippines in achieving its environmental targets through the RCOA program,” said Tony Valdez, Senior Vice President and head of market transformation and retail at ACEN. “Providing reliable, renewable power to organizations that uphold global quality standards reinforces our commitment to scaling up the country’s green energy capacity and helping businesses build sustainable operations.”
