PEMC and IEMOP ADVISORY (17 February 2023): ERC Case No. 2023-002RC

Notice is hereby given that on 10 January 2023, the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines, Inc. (IEMOP) filed the Joint Application dated 26 October 2022 in the case titled, “In the Matter of the Application for the Issuance of Rules on the Price Determination Methodology for the Implementation of the CoOptimized Energy and Reserve Market in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM)” docketed as ERC Case No. 2023-002 RC.

The Joint Application was filed with the ERC seeking the latter’s approval of the amendments to the Price Determination Methodology for the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) to include relevant methodologies and procedures for the trading of reserves or ancillary services in the WESM.

In the Order and Notice of Public Hearing, both dated 10 February 2023, the ERC scheduled the Joint Application for hearing on the following dates:

As stated in the Notice of Public Hearing, any interested stakeholder may submit its comments and/or clarifications at least one (1) calendar day prior to the scheduled initial hearing via electronic mail at docket@erc.ph, copy furnish the Legal Service through legal@erc.ph. Moreover, any person who has an interest in the subject matter may become a party by filing with the ERC via electronic mail at docket@erc.ph, copy furnish the Legal Service through legal@erc.ph a verified Petition to Intervene at least five (5) calendar days prior to the date of the initial hearing and subject to the requirements under Rule 9 of the ERC Revised Rules of Practice and Procedure. Likewise, all other persons who may want their views known to the ERC with respect to the subject matter of the case may file via electronic mail at docket@erc.ph, copy furnish the Legal Service through legal@erc.ph, their Opposition or Comment at least five (5) calendar days prior to the date of the initial hearing and subject to the requirements under Rule 9 of the ERC Revised Rules of Practice and Procedure.
