MAKATI CITY, PHILIPPINES – 7-Eleven Philippines, operated by exclusive licensor Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), is switching over 1,450 stores to 100% renewable energy through an electricity supply with ACEN RES, the retail electricity unit of the Ayala group. This decisive move, enabled through the government’s retail aggregation program (RAP), underscores the company’s commitment to more resilient and sustainable operations.

The RAP enables electricity consumers to cluster their consumption to access retail supply, allowing them to directly negotiate the terms of their supply with licensed retail electricity suppliers like ACEN RES, and facilitating a streamlined transition to renewable energy for multi-site operations like 7-Eleven Philippines.

With the new partnership, ACEN RES is providing 100% renewable energy for over 1,450 7-Eleven stores in Metro Manila, Batangas, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Cavite, and Nueva Ecija, and more rollouts as the convenience store giant continues to expand. They are the biggest retail store network to utilize the retail aggregation program. This supply will be delivered using the same power lines the stores are already connected to, eliminating the need for additional infrastructure or investment in solar rooftop panels and similar equipment.

ACEN RES sources its supply from ACEN’s diverse portfolio of solar, wind, and geothermal plants across the country. It is currently the country’s leading green energy supplier according to the latest report of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on the competitive retail electricity market.

To signify the switch, ACEN RES awarded 7-Eleven Philippines with its “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge, a symbol of recognition for companies partnering with ACEN RES and opting for 100% renewable energy.

“Our collaboration with ACEN RES is a cornerstone of Philippine Seven Corporation’s growth and sustainability strategy,” said Jose Victor Paterno, Chairman of Philippine Seven Corporation. “Recent global energy disruptions have highlighted the vulnerability of local businesses; by shifting to indigenous renewable sources, we are effectively shielding our operations from market volatility. Beyond resilience, we are aligning ourselves with an increasingly eco-conscious consumer base. This transition doesn’t just green our power—it invites our customers to join us on a meaningful journey toward a sustainable future.”

“Our goal has always been to champion the country’s renewable energy ambitions by making the switch seamless for businesses. Bringing 7-Eleven Philippines into the fold is a massive milestone. As the largest convenience store network in the country, their commitment accelerates our collective progress toward a sustainable, renewable-powered economy,” said Eric Francia, ACEN President and Chief Executive Officer.
